Hi Christine, Hang in there! I know a little bit about how it works in Canada through a friend of the blog. Having to wait a year just to be assessed is terrible! Prayers! Love, Jen

I only just found your blog yesterday, after watching your sweet Luke on YouTube. Thank you, thank you for documenting your journey.

I also have three children - five, four and two-and-a-half. It's our youngest, Ethan, who is having the speech issues. We're currently on a waiting list (a YEAR LONG waiting list) just to have him assessed (we're in Canada). It's SO frustrating. From everything I've read, including your blog, Ethan has speech apraxia. The signs are all there, and when I watched the video you made, describing your precious son, you could've been talking about mine. Ethan has yet to say "mommy", although once in a while he'll refer to me as "baba". He's never referred to his sister or brother by name, and although he'll say "daada" quite often, it's only actually directed at daddy some of the time. As I'm sure you know, this can feel heartbreaking.

Again, thank you for your blog. I look forward to reading about Luke's progress, and I'm finding it very motivating and inspiring.

God bless.

First of all, lots of ((HUGS)). I read your last post the other day and didn't have time to respond, but have been sending out PTs for you and Luke.

So glad you are getting some response from the school system, and I hope you guys qualify for services.

Also.... OH MY! LUUUUUKE! I'm sure it was embarrassing at the time, but TOOOO funny! That will definitely be a story to tell him down the road. ;)

Happy early birthday to him! I hope he has a fantastic day! :)
